IceHoles Finish #2

‘ROCKED!

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, April 21, 2008 (UF.Net News Wire via Beer League News Network) –

IceHoles Hockey Club (TSX Venture: ICE.HL) The IceHoles have lost a divisional title to the upstart Shamrocks. They also lost their goalie for a spell. In a 7-4 drubbing, IceHoles goalie Eli Breen took a slapshot to the end of his left ring finger leaving it resembleing an oversize blueberry. There was little to report other than that and the score. Fare well ‘Holes, see you next season.

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, April 20, 2008 (UF.Net News Wire via Beer League News Network) –

IceHoles Hockey Club (TSX Venture: ICE.HL) Saturday night’s tilt against the Arrows was another dazzling performance by two hot goaltenders. With 53 shots split between both net-men and a 2-1 decision for the ‘Holes, the boys in red advance to the finals. The score did not, however, tell the tale of the game. The big number 80 came up with a handful of clutch saves early in the game to keep the IceHoles in it. The Cap’n performed a near feat of magic with a glove that appeared at the far post to stymie a backdoor play without ever appearing to occupy the intervening space to keep the game locked a naught all.

Tony “Onetime” Bellis put the Arrows to bed like the babies they were with a beautiful mid-air puck deflection to his own skates, kicked it up to his blade and, using the mobile screen of one of the Arrow’s D-men, ripped it short side just under the crossbar.

The IceHoles will look to contain a South Park-like offensive from the Shamrocks who had 150 points spread evenly across their top line during the regular season. The ‘rocks are coming off a 6-4 demolition of the ever-loathesome Dragonfly and will need to solve the Cap’n if they’re to have a snowball’s chance in Hell. Despite their desire for a happy ending, the ‘rocks are unlikely to get off easy.

Join us for the Divisional Finals where the IceHoles take on rival Shamrocks. Watch the game live and in-person at Burnaby 8-Rinks, Gold B rink, April 20th at 1:30pm.

Saints Cannoned by IceHoles

IceHoles Crucify Saints

03/31/2008

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, April 6, 2008 (UF.Net News Wire via Beer League News Network) –

IceHoles Hockey Club (TSX Venture: ICE.HL) In a stunning but not entirely unexpected turn-around, the IceHoles unloaded 57 shots on the unexpecting Saints to rack up a final score of 9-0. Everyone’s favourite goaler had a light night in nets stopping only 9 shots for the shutout.

Adam “9-Games” Melnyk took the lion’s share of the goal-getting duties, finding the mesh for 4 and adding a helper. Brad “Nard” Touesnard took the only penalty of the game, but due to the extreme age of on-ice official, he appeared to have forgotten why he called the penalty between blowing the whistle and pointing to the box. The official in question was later spotted wandering aimlessly around the parking lot “looking for his tapioca cart”. We’re not sure either.

The ‘Holes had agreed to buy the Saints a pitcher in exchange for the drubbing, but unfortunately everyone decided they had to be somewhere else after the game.

Join us for game 2 in the IceHoles/Saints series April 12th at 5:30pm, watch the game live and in-person at Burnaby 8-Rinks, Green B rink.

IceHoles Take Division!

IceHoles Capture First Divisional Title

UNIX|Forge News Wire.
03/31/2008

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Mar 31, 2008 (UF.Net News Wire via Beer League News Network) –

IceHoles Hockey Club (TSX Venture: ICE.HL) The implausible success of one of the most storied cinderella teams since the Dawson City Nuggets managed to wring their lead to the bitter end, losing three in a row but managing to keep their hold on the top spot in the division.

The IceHoles posted their first consecutive losses by losing the last three games of the regular season and were shutout in the final two. The ever eloquent if occasionally enigmatic general manager of the IceHoles Hockey Club, Eli K. Breen, stepped up to the podium after a hard game in nets on Sunday afternoon. “Our ferocity and determination through the regular season really paid dividends by allowing us to deflate our padded lead like a whoopy cushion at the very end of the season and still clinch first from those DragonFly buggers.”

“In true IceHoles style we really came together at the end to lose like that, it really was a team effort. Myself and the management team kept a close watch on the standings, specifically DragonFly, and decided to try and finish the season by beating them out for first by the slimmest margin possible just to really get their collective goats. Unfortunately for the guys trying to pad their stats at the end of the season we reined them in to get those losses.” And get their goats they did. DragonFly made huge progress from last seasson where they finished dead last in their division and were well on the way to first this season until their run ins with the ‘Holes. The IceHoles took the season match-ups 5-2-0 while dragging two wins to the fourth frame.

The IceHoles first playoff game is against the Saints on Apr 6th at 4:45pm, watch the game live and in-person at Burnaby 8-Rinks, Green B rink.
